The Leopards Prey

Heated volcanic eyes pierce the storm swept skies
A shadow of death creeping ever closer to the cause
Watching from the depths of darkness
Focused, intense, deadly paws

Ears sharply pinned low
As white wires brush back to lay down
Making of the onyx crown sharp and sure
The aerodynamics of the coldly serious frown

A rumbling within the ribcage
Vibrates each hair though still will keep
Soon the hunt will be over
The lethal blow will end the sweep

Arrogant grazer with not but speed
Ignores the danger without a second glance
To the quiet place within it\'s midst
Now is taken from it the last chance
