This picture of the Himlayan Griffon Vulture was taken at the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore. These vultures hail from the high mountain ranges of the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Pakistan, North India and Afganistan. According to the information plate at the cage enclosure of this magnificient bird, this pair of Himalayan Griffon Vultures were found soaring over Orchard Road in Singapore in Dec 04. Exhausted from the long journey, they were found weak and brought to the Jurong Bird Park where they have now fully recovered.
