these are a female(light brown colour,) and a male ( dark colour) newts in our little pond. we have had frogs come for years to breed. we had one newt last year, but now we hope these may breed. its fasinating to watch them. I'm sorry the photo is not very clear but its hard to get a good one!!

One of these scared the beans out of me when I was seven and discovered one in my Grandma's cold cellar. I thought it was an alligator!!!
