~A Beautiful Barred Owl~Cypress Creek Preserve

The very first picture I was able to capture was of this beautiful barred owl, also known as a wooded owl. These owls are the only owl of the Eastern United States that has brown eyes, all others have yellow eyes.
It was amazing to me, for the simple fact that not only was it around 1pm broad daylight, but he was only a few feet away from where I stood! He just kept looking at me & the girls as curious about us, as we were about him! He graced us with his presence for a good ten minutes before spreading his wings & flying away~
To me, this was a gift from John. Not only did he know that owls are my favorite birds, it's not every day, you get to interact with wildlife in a way that was given to me today!
Thank you John, for showing me in ways such as this, that you'll always be with me!
