Grackles are iredescent and their colors look different depending on the light of which they're viewed. The Common Grackle I saw the other day looked very close to the one pictured, yet I could see his/her iridecence. Common Grackles are a larger bird between 13-15 inches tall (similar to the Blue Jay).
