Comments for "Momma Killdeer with her 4 eggs"

It is fun to watch the males make the indentation in the rocks and watch their mating ritual. She will lay an egg about every other day until she has four. They aren't perfectly round and blend in with the rocks. They come right up to the house and aren't scared of me.

Great pic! We have many of these Kildeer around our house and pasture, but I haven't seen any eggs because they're hard to find (especially since there is no real "nest" involved).
