I'm going to download this great painting to remind me of my puppy, Max, who will be coming to his new "parents" (my hubby and me) the first week of December. Hooray!

Well known for water rescue.
Rigel, the first mate's newf on the Titanic, helped keep the rescue row boats together in the dark, dark night by loud barking while swimming and looking in vain for his master. Raised from the briney deep by the Carpathian crew, one of whom adopted Rigel.
Recently, MAAS, an Italian newf, was featured on a Pedigree ad leaping from a US Coast Guard helicopter to save a family whose boat had turned "turtle" in the ocean.
