Do you know what he/she is doing? It is testing the pot for a scent from another cat. If it finds none, it will leave its own. There are several scent glands on a cat. Two in the corners of its mouth, one on each front shoulder, and one near their butt. This is why they can do the "Cat Yoga" manuver so well.......:D:D:D fv+1

This little guy is smelling to see if any other cat has "marked it" as his/her territory. Their scent glands are located in the corners of their mouth, along their sides, and in their butt regions. Do I know too much about cats? Yes, I do. I'm more a cat person than a dog person! And I can speak their tongue.....:D:D:) fv+1
