Hi everyone! We're hard at work trying to keep our community clean, so if you see any spam, please report it here and we'll review ASAP! Thanks a million!
I love dogs, but I actually grew up with kitty cats for pets. Now we have a collie dog, because my husband is severely allergic to cats. In a way, that worked out well. I never would have known just how wonderful collies are if we had been able to have cats after we were married. (Perhaps my designer name would have been CattySmile.....lol) Anyway, since we can't have a cat, I enjoy and appreciate other people's cats.
This beautiful calico cat belongs to my parents. They named her Cricket, because she has a chirpy sort of meow. She came from a rescue league and has lived with them for about 8 years. When she was a kitten, she had an incredibly long tail! She has grown into it somewhat, but it is still pretty long.
She tends to be shy with people until she gets to know them. She likes being stroked, but she is often more interested in being played with than being petted.
I know that I'm probably biased, but I think that Cricket has some of the most beautiful calico markings that I have ever seen. I have made 2 walls of her, one with her head in profile against her body, and one with her back turned as she stares at a moth on the window.
An interesting fact about calico cats is that they are almost always female. The few male cats that are calico colored are sterile and cannot father kittens.
