Do you live in cougar country Will?? You're lucky to have actually seen one....they're so beautiful....I'd luv to see one!! We have some coyotes living in my area....I haven't seen any though. We also have a big flock of 'wild' turkeys that roam all over the neighborhood.....'lol'!! :)

Sometimes they love to go up the river bottom and break into your chicken coop! I have seen them where I live :)
